Parachinar residents in Islamabad raised voices for peace, now it’s state's test —Senator Raja Nasir

Today, the residents of Parachinar in Islamabad have once again raised the call for peace. They have adopted the path of dialogue, discussion, and jirgas (traditional meetings). What greater example of patience, courage, and patriotism can there be than the people of Kurram?

AhlulBayt News Agency: There have been attacks on government machinery, officials, and security forces, but the provincial and federal governments and security agencies have not taken any significant steps.

The blockade of Parachinar in the Kurram district has been ongoing for the last seven months, and despite government intervention, the roads have still not been fully opened. During this time, we have seen that due to the shortage of medicines and food, innocent children have lost their lives. Terrorists have beheaded dozens of people, killed them, and even convoys sent for aid to Parachinar have been attacked and looted.

Even government officials and security personnel have not been safe from terrorist attacks, and they too have been targeted. However, it is with great regret that despite all this, the government and security forces have not provided any solid response.

Today, the residents of Parachinar in Islamabad have once again raised the call for peace. They have adopted the path of dialogue, discussion, and jirgas (traditional meetings). What greater example of patience, courage, and patriotism can there be than the people of Kurram?

I congratulate all the organizers of the 'Kurram Peace Convention' in Islamabad and appreciate every step taken towards peace. Now, it remains to be seen how the state responds to this call for peace.
